#18 The Moon

October 21, 2017 By Eddy Juanita

Ahhh, The Moon, one of the most mysterious, and to my mind, misunderstood cards in the entire deck. It can herald mental and emotional disturbance, nightmares, even psychic attack!
Things rise in your subconscious, ancient life forms (the crawfish) take center stage. By the shadowy light of the moon its easy to misinterpret what you see. Images and information come to you as half formed concepts. Misconstruing signs and symbols along the way you read them incorrectly…and are led down the wrong path.

Often, when the Moon arrives it heralds a time of unrest, a subconscious activated by something it knows not up, just beyond reach. It’s a good time to pay attention to your dreams, to signs along the way, and synchronicity. The message comes, eventually, but only by careful looking and seeing. Misinterpretation is quite possible…

Is there anything positive about this card?? Many people think so. In fact, I Just nowRead for a man who regards The Moon card as his friend. For him the card is creative imagination, thinking outside the bounds, cosmic energy. A bit of night time magic…perhaps the allure of a woman, or a benevolent lunar force reflecting back on him. Reflection is the operative word as the moon generates no light of her own, thereby leaving the seeker to interpret the image. Take your time. There is much room for error.

#17 The Star

July 18, 2017 By Eddy Juanita

Wow! you’ve pulled The Star, one of the highest healing cards in the entire deck. With it’s soothing image of a maiden pouring the waters of life into the pool of consciousness, The Star promises an end to worry and stress and the beginning of hope and healing. What more could you want? What more does it offer?

The rest of this text is from Easy Tarot Guide By Marcia Marino,1987

The Star Astological attribution: Aquarius — Color violet
— Focusing energy on the persuit of wishes, talents, dreams and goals. Meditation. Good health.
— Talents, desires and dreams.
The Star trump symbolizes the Seeker’s dreams and aspirations. Often it denotes the pursuit of natural talents with confidence, enthusiasm and dedication.
Also symbolized by The Star trum is an inspiried goal which may be chosen and followed through.
Additionally, The Star card suggests positive thinking and good mental and physical health.
Meditation, where the Seeker finds new insights and revelations, is symbolized by this trump. Encourage the development of this mental exercise as means for the Seeker to find new personal talents an potentials and to reach inspired, creative goals.

One more note: I have often foound that The Star card carries some significance to when the Seeker was age 17. If you pull this card or it shows up for you in a significant way, think back to when you were 17. What was your greatest wish then, the desire that drove you? Reflect on that at this time. There is healing for you there.

# 13 Death

July 17, 2017 By Eddy Juanita

I’ve always wondered why so many Tarot reference books and deck instruction booklets won’t ever mention the possibility of the #13 card representing Death itself, the attribute of the card. In many modern versions of Tarot the singular interpretation of the Death card is often called Transformation or Irrevocable Change and is tied to the inevitable changes we all go thru as we journey through life.

What many of the modern interpretations of this card seem to overlook (in an effort to be all out positive?) is that the Death card can, and often will, appear in a querent’s reading shortly before a death occurs. Almost always when I’ve seen this, it appears in the position of the Environment, Near Future, or Possible Outcome. I experienced this myself recently when the Death card appeared in every reading I did for two days, regardless of what the reading was “about.” A day later I learned that an old friend I hadn’t seen in many years had died, unexpectedly, a couple of days before.

I too, have fallen into the habit of telling a querent Death shows up in a reading that the card often portends great transformation, or the irrevocable end of an era in their life. But I feel now, more than ever, I must also warn them to possibly prepare to hear news that someone has died. And not to fear it. After all, Death will come for us all one day. There is no escaping it.
